The first oil from the Mouriès mill came in this morning, cloudy and green. The olive & laurel batch we poured off it this week — number 612 — will be ready by mid-November. Honey & beeswax goes on the racks next to it.
The workshop is open again. As usual we closed for the olive growers' quiet month and to let the family rest. The lavender bars cured over July are now on the shelf, and the market stall returns on Wednesday.
We have moved to unbleached kraft printed with a vegetable-based ink. It is a shade browner and it composts along with your kitchen peelings. The little paper band stays, with the batch number on it.
Our green-clay summer bar returns. This year we have cut the salt back a little after a few of you told us it was too scrubbing in hard water.
Our shea supplier in Marseille had a slow shipment, so the winter shea bar skipped a pour. It is back now. Thank you for the patience — this is the downside of a short range.
The shop keeps normal hours until the 24th, then closes until 2 January. The Wednesday market runs as usual apart from the 25th.
